They are also responsible for keeping the hair and makeup trailers organized and clean, as well as ensuring that all necessary supplies are readily available.

A Hair Assistant should possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. They should also have a good understanding of different hair types and styles, as well as basic knowledge of hair care products and tools. Flexibility and the ability to take direction well are also important skills for a Hair Assistant to have on set.

While a formal college education is not always required to become a Hair Assistant, having a certification or diploma from a cosmetology or beauty school can be beneficial. Some production companies may also prefer candidates with previous experience or training in hairstyling and makeup application.
