Synopsis:

"The Tailor of Panama" (2001) is a darkly comedic thriller directed by John Boorman, based on the novel by John le Carré. The story follows Harry Pendel, a British tailor living in Panama, who becomes embroiled in a web of espionage and deceit. Struggling with his own financial troubles and a crumbling marriage, Harry is approached by a British spy, Andrew Osnard, who seeks to exploit Harry's connections in the local elite.

As Harry fabricates stories about the political landscape of Panama to impress Osnard, he inadvertently becomes a pawn in a larger game of international intrigue. The line between truth and deception blurs as Harry's lies spiral out of control, leading to unexpected consequences for him and those around him. With a stellar cast featuring Geoffrey Rush, Pierce Brosnan, and Jamie Lee Curtis, the film explores themes of betrayal, loyalty, and the complexities of human relationships against the backdrop of a politically charged environment.
