Synopsis:

"Small Time Crooks" is a comedic caper directed by Woody Allen that follows the misadventures of a group of bumbling criminals. The story centers on Ray Winkler, played by Allen himself, who, along with his wife, Frenchy, and a motley crew of inept accomplices, devises a plan to dig a tunnel from a nearby bakery to rob a bank. However, their scheme takes an unexpected turn when the bakery becomes a surprising success, leading to a series of humorous complications. As Ray and Frenchy navigate their newfound wealth and the challenges of their criminal past, the film explores themes of ambition, love, and the often absurd nature of the American Dream. With a blend of witty dialogue and charming performances, "Small Time Crooks" delivers a lighthearted take on crime and the pursuit of happiness.
