On October 27, 2020, Jennifer Lopez was cast as the female lead. Armie Hammer replaced Reynolds (who eventually served as executive producer for the film) as the male lead in the film before dropping out in January 2021 in the wake of abuse allegations against him.

On January 19, 2021, Josh Duhamel entered early negotiations to replace Hammer, with his casting confirmed the following month. Sônia Braga and Jennifer Coolidge were also cast in starring roles. On February 16, 2021, Lenny Kravitz, Cheech Marin, D'Arcy Carden, Selena Tan, Desmin Borges, and Alex Mallari Jr. were cast.
