"I Am Sam" (2001) tells the poignant story of Sam Dawson, a man with an intellectual disability who is determined to raise his daughter, Lucy, on his own. Despite facing numerous challenges, including societal prejudice and legal battles, Sam's unwavering love for Lucy shines through. As she grows older, the gap in their intellectual abilities becomes more pronounced, leading to a custody battle that puts their bond to the ultimate test. With the help of a tough yet compassionate lawyer, Rita Harrison, Sam fights to prove that love and dedication are what truly make a family.
