The film opens with Bond on a mission in North Korea, where he is captured and tortured after a botched operation. After a harrowing 14 months in captivity, he is released in a prisoner exchange, but the experience has left him shaken and questioning his own loyalty.

As Bond investigates the mysterious circumstances surrounding his capture, he uncovers a plot involving a North Korean general who has developed a powerful satellite weapon capable of harnessing solar energy. The general's plan is to use this technology to create chaos and reshape the world order. Along the way, Bond encounters the enigmatic and alluring Jinx, played by Halle Berry, who has her own agenda and secrets.

The film is packed with high-octane action sequences, including a thrilling car chase in a modified Aston Martin and a dramatic showdown in an ice palace.
