Saturation Joins MovieLabs Forum to Shape Media Industry

Mar 25, 2025

LOS ANGELES, CA — Saturation, a cloud-based production budgeting and management platform, has joined the MovieLabs Industry Forum, an initiative designed to support global implementation of the MovieLabs 2030 Vision for the future of media creation. The Industry Forum is chaired by Leon Silverman, who was recently appointed to guide the Forum’s collaborative efforts across the industry.

The MovieLabs 2030 Vision outlines a set of principles for a more interoperable, cloud-based media ecosystem, where creative teams can collaborate securely across tools, companies, and geographies. The Industry Forum brings together studios, technology providers, and production stakeholders to translate that vision into practical standards and workflows.

Saturation’s participation reflects the growing role of production-side tools in modernizing how film and television projects are planned, budgeted, and managed. As productions increasingly rely on distributed teams and cloud infrastructure, budgeting and production management systems are becoming foundational to interoperable workflows.

“Production planning and budgeting sit at the center of every project,” said Jens Jacob, p.g.a., CEO of Saturation. “By joining the MovieLabs Industry Forum, we’re contributing our perspective from the earliest stages of production, where efficiency, clarity, and shared standards can have an outsized impact on the entire lifecycle of a project.”

Through the Industry Forum, Saturation will collaborate with MovieLabs and its studio members, including The Walt Disney Studios, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Universal City Studios, alongside technology leaders such as Amazon Web Services, Adobe, Avid, Dolby Laboratories, DreamWorks Animation, and Skywalker Sound, to help define best practices for secure, interoperable, cloud-native production workflows. The focus is not replacing creative tools, but ensuring they work together more seamlessly across the industry.

MovieLabs, a non-profit research organization founded by major Hollywood studios, launched the Industry Forum to accelerate adoption of the 2030 Vision through open collaboration. Forum members include leading studios and technology companies working toward common technical frameworks that enable flexibility, scalability, and creative freedom.

Saturation joined the Industry Forum in early 2025 and will participate in working groups focused on real-world implementation of interoperable media workflows.
