Scripto is cloud-based screenwriting software built from the ground up for writers rooms, television productions, and collaborative narrative teams. Co-founded by Stephen Colbert and Rob Dubbin to address the absence of software capable of supporting fast-paced, collaborative television writing workflows, Scripto has grown into a professional platform used by working writers and production teams across film, television, and content production.

Scripto includes comprehensive version tracking that saves backups automatically and provides detailed views of what has been added and removed with every revision. For television productions where scripts go through multiple rounds of notes and revisions before a table read, having a complete, navigable revision history means no change is ever permanently lost and comparisons between any two versions are instantly accessible.

The platform supports industry-standard screenplay formats out of the box, with the ability to customize formats to fit specific production requirements. Scripto also recently introduced Screenplay Pro, a suite specifically designed for narrative television and film that makes crafting and managing professional screenplays faster and more production-ready. Integration with Adobe Premiere Pro and Frame.io is in development, and the platform is building AI-powered features in collaboration with Anthropic to support writers and creative teams.
