What is Cinapse?
Cinapse is a modern, cloud-based production scheduling platform built specifically for the complexity of film and television production. Designed by filmmakers and production technologists, Cinapse brings the stripboard, crossboard, and shooting schedule into a collaborative, real-time workspace that multiple team members can access and edit simultaneously, replacing the siloed, file-based workflows that have defined production scheduling for decades.
The platform is built around the needs of assistant directors and production managers who are responsible for translating a script into a workable production schedule. Cinapse handles script import directly from Final Draft and Scriptation, which means the breakdown process starts from structured data rather than manual entry. From there, ADs can organize scenes into strips, build crossboards for multi-unit productions, and generate day-out-of-days reports that give producers, department heads, and cast a clear picture of the shooting plan.
Real-time collaboration is one of Cinapse's core differentiators. On episodic productions where the schedule is a living document that changes constantly in response to location availability, cast conflicts, weather, and a hundred other variables, having the entire team working on the same live version eliminates the version control problems that plague scheduling workflows built on shared files. The AD, UPM, and producer can each see changes as they happen, reducing miscommunication and keeping the schedule accurate at all times.
Cinapse also works offline, saving changes locally and syncing when connectivity is restored. This is essential for productions that work in locations without reliable internet access, which is most productions at some point during their shoot. The offline capability means the scheduling workflow is not dependent on connectivity, and nothing is lost when the connection drops.
The platform has been used on major productions including Euphoria, The Boys, Shrinking, and Outer Banks, and has worked with studios including Netflix, Disney, Apple TV, NBCUniversal, and Sony. In December 2025, Cinapse was acquired by Wrapbook, advancing the vision of a connected production back office that integrates scheduling with payroll and accounts payable in a single ecosystem.
