Synopsis:

"Rules of Engagement" is a gripping military drama that delves into the complexities of war and the moral dilemmas faced by soldiers. The story follows Colonel Terry Childers, a decorated Marine officer, who is called to defend his actions during a controversial mission in Yemen. When a U.S. embassy is attacked, Childers leads a rescue operation that results in civilian casualties, igniting a firestorm of public outrage and a high-stakes court-martial.

As the trial unfolds, the film explores themes of honor, duty, and the harsh realities of combat. Childers' defense attorney, Major Helen Preiss, must navigate the murky waters of military protocol and the emotional toll of war, while Childers grapples with the consequences of his decisions. The narrative is punctuated by flashbacks to the harrowing events in Yemen, providing a visceral understanding of the chaos and moral ambiguity that soldiers face in the line of duty. Ultimately, "Rules of Engagement" challenges viewers to consider the fine line between right and wrong in the theater of war.
