Movie Magic Scheduling
Scheduling
Import schedule elements as budget lines.
Budgeting
Movie Magic Scheduling is an industry standard for building production schedules. Saturation turns a Movie Magic schedule into budget lines: cast day counts, locations, and shoot-day globals land under mapped accounts in your budget.
What imports
- Budget lines: schedule elements arrive under mapped accounts, ready to price.
- Cast day counts, locations, and shoot-day globals carry across from the schedule.
How the import works
- Export or locate your schedule file (.msd, .mmsx, or a legacy .sex). DOOD PDFs work too.
- Drop the file on a project’s budget page in Saturation.
- Review the import: map each category to an account (or create one), then commit.
Accepted file types: .msd, .mmsx, legacy .sex schedule files, and Day Out of Days (DOOD) PDFs.
Who it is for
Productions where the AD team schedules in Movie Magic and the finance team budgets in Saturation. The schedule the ADs already built becomes the starting point for the budget, so nothing is entered twice and the budget stays aligned with the real shoot.
Connect your tools
Saturation integrates with the tools your production team already uses.
