Julius Onah was hired as director in July 2022, with the title initially announced as Captain America: New World Order at San Diego Comic-Con alongside a May 2024 release date.
Harrison Ford joined the cast in October 2022, replacing the late William Hurt as Thaddeus Ross. Principal photography took place from March 21 to June 30, 2023, at Trilith Studios in Atlanta and on location in Washington D.C., under the working title Rochelle Rochelle. Critical Reception
Captain America: Brave New World received mixed reviews from critics. The audience score was notably higher at 75%.
Critics praised the performances, particularly those of Mackie and Ford, but found the story overstuffed with MCU connections and setup for future projects. The visual effects drew some criticism as well. The film earned $415.1 million worldwide on a $180 million production budget.
