What is a Robot Design?

A Robot Designer is tasked with the development of a film's robotic entities from the ground up. This includes initial sketches, detailed plans, and working closely with other departments to ensure the robots are both aesthetically fitting and functionally viable for film production. They must consider the story's needs, director's vision, and the practicalities of construction and operation. Robot Designers often work alongside engineers, special effects teams, and even actors to bring robotic characters to life.

Critical skills for Robot Design include a strong sense of creativity and imagination, coupled with technical design proficiency. A Robot Designer should have a good understanding of mechanics and electronics to create designs that can be practically realized.
